In commoration of the 2020 International Peace Day. The narrative of shaping peace together reiterates the need for an intergenerational drive for co-creation, coownership, collective action and shared leadership in the promotion of peace in Africa. Premised on that, our CEO Austin Ekwujuru, will be speaking on The Process of Sustainable Peacebuilding: A Generation that is Building the Future we Want. The aim is to facilitate
an open discussion where experiences and ideas are shared and validated by community members. It is
designed as a community gathering away from the traditional Panelists-Attendees strategy, allowing for more
young people to share their experiences, bringing to the idea of a community of practice to life.
Conversations during the community gathering will enhance meaningful engagement and spotlight creative
ways to enhance the engagement of youth at the local/community level, at the national level and at the global
level especially in formal political mechanisms as well as across all thematic development areas. It will also
provide a safe platform for peer-to-peer conversation on co-creating and co-owning the process to peace
especially with the impact of COVID-19.
The program will focus on three (3) thematic areas:
● Dialogue for Intergenerational Co-ownership on building a Peaceful Society
● The Process of Sustainable Peacebuilding: A Generation that is Building the Future We Want
● Socio-economic Challenges of building Peace: The trajectory for rebuilding societies Post-Pandemic
